Heading into this season, based on the available records, Kenton has participated in 1,070 official games. Several exhibition games and “Preview” games were not counted. The combined squads have amassed 530 wins, 528 losses, and 52 ties. The school’s first win was 11-0 against Marion in the last game of the 1900 season. The most points ever scored by Kenton were in an 82-0 victory over Ada in 1903 while the most points surrendered were in a 97-0 loss to Lima in 1914. The lowest score ever recorded for a Kenton game was 5-0, which occurred four times (a win over Lima in 1901, a loss to Bellefontaine in 1902, a loss against Marion in 1907, and a win over Bellefontaine in 1907), although numerous 0-0 ties appear in the records. Until about 1912, touchdowns were only worth five points. |
Overview
Kenton is one of the most rich programs in terms of success and tradition, Kenton has had a winning season in 33 of its last 35 seasons. Kenton also dominates the record books in state passing and national passing. The current head coach is Brent Fackler who took over the program in 2014 but had been coaching in Kenton as the Defensive coordinator since 1985. Kenton is still achieving much success on the field, as well as off the field and around the community.
